| *Giclée is a French word meaning "spray of ink." These prints are made using the highest-end graphic reproduction process available today. The technique, relatively new to the fine art graphic market, uses the continuous tone technology of ink-jet printing. Individual droplets of color are sprayed on 330GM archival Somerset Velvet Paper during printing to produce giclées (sometimes referred to as Iris prints). The Iris printer, which is the most prominent printer in the field of giclées, was introduced by Iris Graphics in 1987. |
